Pastor Wayne Penn, Sr.

Meet the Dean

Pastor Wayne Penn, Sr. was born on February 14, 1962, in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. He was educated in the St. Thomas public school system and graduated from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in 1980. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served honorable for 24.5 years.

In 1982, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. During that same year, he met the love of his life, Tondra and married her in 1983. Pastor Penn and his beautiful wife, Tondra have been happily married for over 40 years. They are the blessed parents of two sons, Wayne Jr. (Felicia) and Joshua, and two granddaughters, Kori and Kami.

Pastor Penn served in various ministry capacities that include, Brotherhood President, Assistant Pastor, District Evangelist, 1st Administrative Assistant to the Pastor, Prison Ministry Volunteer, Volunteer Chaplain for Richland County Sheriff Department, Pastor, Assistant Dean, and Dean of the SCJ Department of Education. He currently serves as the Pastor of Greater Refuge Temple Church Of God In Christ, Columbia, SC.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Multi-Disciplinary Studies with a concentration in Religion, Business, and Psychology from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA., and a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Level Education from the University of South Carolina (USC) Columbia, SC. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership, and a Doctor of Ministerial Leadership (DML) from Columbia International University (CIU), Columbia, SC.
